Universities should allot the same amount of money for their student's sports activities as they allot for their university libraries. I completely agree with this statement because physical development is as necessary as mental development. Let’s look at three different perspectives to justify my agreement.
Firstly, ‘Academic Perspective’. Sports activities provide ability to with stand mental pressure. Relaxation to mind from studies. Sports activity enhances the skills to find solution for any problem. This, in turn increases the quality of students, hence leads to the combined development of students and university
Secondly, ‘Social Perspective’. It is said that “Health is Wealth”. A healthy person is overall societal gain. Sports activities improve one’s teamwork quality and therefore, improve the mutual understanding in the society.
Thirdly, ‘Future Perspective’. The quality to never quit is very important to achieve life’s goals. This quality comes by understanding the situation, analyzing the circumstances, finding the solution to an issue, which is taught by sports. A single decision can change one’s life. Either it is good or bad, but to choose the right one, one requires proper and perfect vision. One needs to be a visionary to take the right decision. Field knowledge as well as book knowledge helps to develop decision making skills. Thus sports activities are as important as classroom activities.
A sports person is mentally prepared for the results, either it be positive or negative, but has the ability to fight back to gain the desired results. Of course, such people fail in life, but they double their efforts to succeed instead of just quitting.
Hence, I conclude that a person needs to be fit in all the three perspectives viz. academic, social and future. To fulfill this requirement universities should allot the same amount of money for sports activity as they allot to their libraries
