A government’s role is only to provide defence capability and urban infrastructure like roads, water supplies, etc. All other services like education, health, social security should be provided by private groups or individuals in the community.

With the advent of privatization some holds a stand that government’s primary duty is to defend the country and provide basic infrastructure like water, electricity and roads, and private companies or individuals should take responsibilities to cater to secondary needs of the citizens like education, health and transportation, to name a few. I have three reasons to agree with this view.

The first reason, in countries like India, corruption is the burning issue. In government sector, no one will show interest to do your work unless you offer them something. For example, in Indian vehicle driving license issuing department, if you bribe the driving test examiner, he will issue a license at the very moment. Everywhere in government departments, the scenario is the same. By giving all such secondary responsibilities to private companies or individuals, we ensure ourselves, we can reduce the corruption.

The second reason, in government departments, the efficiency of employees is very low. They will consume a whole day to do a work of mere one and half hours. This is the attitude of every government official because they know that this is the tradition which is set by their superiors. Privatization will eradicate this slow working mentality, because they have to earn money. They won’t get paid if their work is not completed.

The third reason, at least we will get benefits of our paid taxes. We pay some amount of our hard earned money to government for our welfare. Instead of using this money for us, governments spend it for their welfare. To illustrate this, according to recent food bill of the Indian parliament, approximately 2lac rupees are spent behind one member. Of course, we have to pay tax but rather to paying to government we will be paying to private companies. Our money will be used for a real public welfare purpose.

To sum up, in the third world, citizens are living miserable life and to fulfill their primary and secondary needs and amenities government should spin off their some responsibilities and hand it over to private sector.

Many people think that it is important to use leisure time for activities that improve the mind, such as reading and doing word puzzles. Others feel that it is important to rest the mind during leisure time. Discuss both the views and give your opinion.

Today we live in a fast-paced world. Time is moving so fast that sometimes we are not aware how time has passed. We are brought up to believe that “Time and tide waits for no man” and hence everyone is running a mad race to achieve success in the shortest time possible. We are all looking shortcuts to reach the top of the ladder. This hectic pace and desire for success at any cost leads to stress and nervous breakdown. Therefore it is necessary that will take time off to rest the mind.

Time away from work and household chores, when we have nothing to do is called leisure time. Different people have different opinions and view on how they would like to utilize this spare time of theirs.

Some people belief that when they are free and have nothing to do, if they don’t occupy themselves then may be the devil would use them as his workshop for executing not so pleasant deeds. Others think that they are already so stressed out and that their minds are taxed to such an extent that they don’t wish their mind to be engaged in any thought process and thinking that they need a total mental cut off preferred to do nothing but lie down shut their eyes and transport themselves into another world of peace and serenity.

There is no doubt that getting engaged in solving puzzles or reading book does stimulate and sharpen the mind but may be this would seem if the mid being taxed again. May be to some this may be an activity brings them joy and peace of mind.

There are a number of people who believe that the best way to distress is to listen to soothing music, spiritual music, or may be to meditate. Therefore, I am of the opinion that sometimes spending leisure time by solving puzzles, reading books, listening to music or watching movies could be a stress buster, but sometimes it becomes necessary to completely shut off the mind and just transport oneself into a world of nothingness, but play in simple peace and quiet.

Universities should allot the same amount of money for their student's sports activities as they allot for their university libraries. Use specific reasons and example to support your opinion

Universities should allot the same amount of money for their student's sports activities as they allot for their university libraries. I completely agree with this statement because physical development is as necessary as mental development. Let’s look at three different perspectives to justify my agreement.

Firstly, ‘Academic Perspective’. Sports activities provide ability to with stand mental pressure. Relaxation to mind from studies. Sports activity enhances the skills to find solution for any problem. This, in turn increases the quality of students, hence leads to the combined development of students and university

Secondly, ‘Social Perspective’. It is said that “Health is Wealth”. A healthy person is overall societal gain. Sports activities improve one’s teamwork quality and therefore, improve the mutual understanding in the society.

Thirdly, ‘Future Perspective’. The quality to never quit is very important to achieve life’s goals. This quality comes by understanding the situation, analyzing the circumstances, finding the solution to an issue, which is taught by sports. A single decision can change one’s life. Either it is good or bad, but to choose the right one, one requires proper and perfect vision. One needs to be a visionary to take the right decision. Field knowledge as well as book knowledge helps to develop decision making skills. Thus sports activities are as important as classroom activities.

A sports person is mentally prepared for the results, either it be positive or negative, but has the ability to fight back to gain the desired results. Of course, such people fail in life, but they double their efforts to succeed instead of just quitting.

Hence, I conclude that a person needs to be fit in all the three perspectives viz. academic, social and future. To fulfill this requirement universities should allot the same amount of money for sports activity as they allot to their libraries
